Helen Flanagan opens up on 'mum guilt' after snapping at her daughter amid burn out

Helen Flanagan opened up about mum guilt and snapping at her daughter as a result of feeling burned out.

The former Coronation Street actress, who has recently been announced for I'm A Celebrity: All Stars, opened up about her extreme tiredness as a busy mum of three. Helen, 32, took to Instagram to thank her mum for looking after her kids - who she shares with ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair - to allow her some time to relax after feeling burnt out.

Speaking to fans on her Instagram stories, Helen opened up about how her tiredness led to her snapping at her daughter Matilda. Helen said: “I don’t actually stop, and I never actually get very tired like at all.

"I actually think I’ve naturally got a lot of energy; I definitely think I have ADHD. I’m quite hyper.

“And yeah, like I never do like nothing. I always like to be busy, but yesterday I was getting to the point where I was so burnt out like so burnt out, and I was getting quite…I felt really bad; I was just snappy with Matilda, and I was just really tired, but I feel so good for this now, I feel fresh,” she added.

The soap star frequently speaks about parenting on her social media channels, and keeps things honest for her fans. Addressing other mums, Helen said: “I don’t know if other mum’s can relate, you know when you feel so tired that you feel like you could just break you just feel so tired.”

“I feel like I really connect with the mum’s on here; I like sharing times that I’m not great and sharing my bad times,” she added.

Helen went onto detail an incident on Sunday afternoon where she was out for lunch with her friend and three children, when her youngest Charlie, two, "pooped all over" her. She added that after this, a woman gave her a “disgusted look” which upset her and left her crying in the taxi on her way home.

Helen said: “It probably sounds absolutely ridiculous but it did [just get to me], and I think it’s just so important to be kind. I always try and be kind to people in all situations, and people should be kind to mums

“I think people should be kind. Yesterday, I was struggling, to be honest with you, to hold it together, I was hormonal, I felt very tired, I had things going on, and I just think it’s so important to be kind,” she said.
