Helen Flanagan made a bit of a blunder on her way home from Glasgow as she hopped on the train with her three children.
The former Coronation Street actress had been enjoying some time in the city, where she previously lived, over the festive period with her kids Matilda, Delilah and Charlie. But en route home to London, she realised she made a mistake by travelling when the train strikes are taking place.
The industrial action that we saw in 2022 has continued into the New Year with five days of disruption this week. The long-running dispute between the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) and train operating companies around pay and working conditions is yet to be solved, and so this week rail journeys may be disrupted.
Helen decided to travel amid the strikes and took to Instagram to document her journey, saying she was "the idiot getting on trains".
She said: "So, my driver has said to me 'don't go on the trains today,' but I decided that, you know, it might be ok, there might be some trains running.
"So, I'm on a train - I've got to go to London tomorrow, but I'm meeting the girls' nana in Birmingham. So, yeah, I'm just hoping that I can actually... as long as I get the kids ok I don't know how I'm going to go down to London tomorrow. I might even have to stay over in Birmingham and get a train in the morning."
Helen then panned round to the table where her children were sitting with their iPads and said: "It's always quite stressful when you're travelling with kids isn't it but I've got their iPads, and then I've got colouring for them, crayons, snacks."
A short while after, Helen took to her stories once again to update fans on how the journey was going. She said: "So I've just cleaned up an egg sandwich that Charlie threw on the floor."
Last week, the former Celtic WAG travelled up to be a bridesmaid at her pal Libby Smith's wedding reception and she made sure to make special memories with her children during their stay in the city.
The 31-year-old shared some adorable snaps of the little family donning matching festive pyjamas as they got cosy during their stay at Glasgow's Blythswood hotel.
Alongside the pictures, Helen wrote: "Gorgeous stay last week with my babies at the stunning @kimptonblythswoodsquare I always try and get to Glasgow when I can when the kids are on breaks from school x Love @kimptonblythswoodsquare always such happy memories here #giftedstay."
