Helen Flanagan has shared her horror at having to call an ambulance to a theme park hotel after her son suffered an accident. Earlier this week, the former Coronation Street actress returned to social media after a brief break and offered her loyal followers a little update after being unusually quiet on Instagram for a few days.
In her video posted to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (February 22, the 32-year-old, who is usually quite active in giving her followers a glimpse into her busy life, could be seen fresh-faced and laying in bed as she said: "Eventful few days and this is why I’ve not been on my social media."
And after leaving her hundreds of thousands of followers hanging after saying she'd update them the same day, Helen eventually returned to Instagram on Thursday (February 23) to fill her fans in as she made her way to Paris with her eldest daughter, Matilda, and son Charlie, who turns two next month.
The actress, who played Rosie Webster in Corrie, joked that she look 'bedraggled' as she tried to keep her young son entertained while sporting a pink jumper and her blonde locks pulled up on top of her head in a messy bun. "I've got chocolate croissant all over me and I'm bedraggled," Helen typed with a crying laughing emoji as she spoke in the video.
It was then that she shared how she had took her three children, including middle child Delilah, to the CBeebies Land Hotel at Alton Towers earlier this week as a treat for her four-year-old which the family of four could enjoy. "I went to Cbeebies World because it's Delilah's favourite hotel. She's obsessed with the hotel and literally talks about it all the time and she literally had the best time.
"I took all three on my own and it was fine and we loved it and my friend who helps me with the kids, she just came to meet me during the day and then we went to a water park."
Helen then shared how her young son suffered an accident while at the water park. "To cut a long story short, Charlie slipped, really really badly and it was awful, absolutely horrendous and I had to get an ambulance and he had snapped his collarbone into two. It was horrendous, so I spent like six hours in the hospital at Stoke."
She added: "I'd like to say thank you to the paramedics and the doctors and nurses who were amazing so thank you so much. That was awful, it's horrible, horrible, horrible to hear your child in pain. It's just horrendous but he's ok. There's actually not much you can do for it. Apparently, it mends by itself but it's horrible when you're a mum and you just wish you could take every pain away from them."
She also penned alongside the clip: "He's okay bless him x Just lots of love and attention and hair watching him like a hawk x." Helen also revealed the accident happened on Tuesday - the day before she was due to take her eldest daughter Matilda to Paris on what was going to be a girls trip. "I promised Matilda for months, she's always wanted to go to Paris, and I didn't want to let her down," the Bury-born star said.
But after some tears from her seven-year-old, Helen said she still managed to make it to Paris and took Charlie with her as well as having help from a friend who helps her look after her children, who she shares with footballer Scott Sinclair. She later showed some footage of the toddler on his feet beside the Eiffel Tower and she wrote alongside it: "Charlie's been amazing bless him so brave x at the Eiffel Tower today."
