Helen Flanagan left fans speechless when she reminded them of her I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here appearance. The former Coronation Street actress took to Instagram earlier this week as the hit ITV reality show returned to screens for its 22nd series.
I'm A Celeb made its big comeback to Australia on Sunday (November 6) for the first time in three years. The last two series were filmed in Wales due to coronavirus travel restrictions. Plenty of things have already got viewers talking, none more so than Matt Hancock's entry into the jungle.
The former health secretary made his entrance into the main camp during Wednesday night's episode, alongside fellow latecomer Seann Walsh. Matt, 44, and the comedian, 36, faced their first Bushtucker Trial before meeting their fellow campmates for the first time which inevitably came with surprise.
Ex-soap star Helen marked I'm A Celeb's return by sharing images from her own iconic appearance in the jungle in 2012 on Instagram. The 32-year-old, who played Corrie's Rosie Webster, famously had to do SEVEN Bushtucker Trials in a row.
Talking about the experience more recently, Helen said: "There were parts of the show that I loved, but obviously I really, really struggled with all the trials and the challenges when I was younger."
She added: "I didn’t have any idea what I was letting myself in for. Obviously, the show was a massive show, but I was always working at Corrie, so I didn’t really watch it too much or I was revising or doing exams and stuff. I didn’t realise that the show would be such a challenge, so I was totally unprepared."
It appears the mum-of-three does look upon some of her time in jungle fondly. She shared a series of pictures of herself during from the show with one appearing to be from one of her many trials, showing her unimpressed and with makeup running down her face.
Another image showed her screaming with her head in a perspex box filled with creepy crawlies while a bright yellow star awaited her. And a third image saw Helen appearing to enjoy a happier moment in camp, donning a bikini while trying to get a tan.
"Can’t wait to catch up on @imacelebrity tonight," she captioned the post. "Throwback to a decade ago." Former fellow campmate and Made In Chelsea star Hugo Taylor was among the first to comment, writing: "Hahaha. Funny times. Swear we didn’t eat for at least 10 days.2
Meanwhile, former Corrie co-star Katie McGlynn simply penned: "Iconic," alongside a crying laughing emoji and red heart. But while some happily remembered Helen's time on the show, others were speechless at how long it has been since the series she took part in aired.

@francesca_alicia posted: "No way has this been 10 years! By far the best to go on it!!" @8370_robert added: "Wow was that really 10 years ago remember watching u in the jungle."
Others were sharing how they're looking foreard to seeing Helen take part in the upcoming 'All Stars' spin-off series. While her appearance on the show hasn't been confirmed, it has been reproted that Helen is among several of the show's former campmates returning.
Next year, viewers will get to see an I'm A Celebrity 'All Stars' series which Ant and Dec recently filmed in South Africa. And they confirmed in September that the new series, which they described as the 'worst kept secret in television' will see a line-up of all old I’m A Celeb contestants.
Among those reportedly trying to be crowned the ultimate King or Queen of the jungle are Helen, CorrieAndy Whyment, who took part in the show in 2019 where he was a close runner-up to former EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa, and former winner Joe Swash.
The Sun also reported that Gillian McKeith, Carol Vorderman, Georgia Toffolo, Janice Dickinson, Myleene Klass, and Fatima Whitbread have also flown out to the new camp. Also among those reportedly having a second go at the show is Phil Tufnell, Amir Khan, Paul Burrell, Jordan Banjo, Dean Gaffney, and Shaun Ryder.
