Helen Flanagan defended by fans after facing backlash over her daughters' bedroom

Helen Flanagan has been defended by her fans after she showed off her daughters' bedroom. The former Coronation Street star had filmed an ad with her two eldest children, seven-year-old Matilda and four-year-old Delilah which shows them both sharing a princess-themed bedroom.

Helen, who also shares one-year-old son Charlie with footballer Scott Sinclair, took to Instagram earlier this week to share some content for the sponsored advert for Mouse In The House World. The clip showed the 32-year-old saying goodnight to her two girls, who were sat in pink beds with a stunning castle mural on the wall.

"Love you girls, night night," the Bury-born actress, who played Rosie Webster in ITV's Corrie, says as she goes to leave the door. "Night," Matilda and Delilah replied before the eldest of the two turned to her sister and said: "Come on, Delilah, let's go to play."

The girls could then be seen playing with their toys before Helen came in and after being shocked by their antics, then joined in on the game. And while many of Helen's followers were quick to gush over the cuteness of the video, others were a bit more critical of the setup.

However, Helen's loyal fans were quick to speak out in her defence. @dawnwilksstaceyweaver said: "Beautiful family ….nobody’s business if they share a room or not at the end of the day it’s just common courtesy to be respectful of others." @serenwilliams206 commented: "Take no notice of the troll HATERS ARE UNHAPPY People."

@laura_1291295 replied: "My children love sharing a room….why are ppl so vile?! Seriously give her a break - nothing more irritating than the parent police." @bjclmn wrote: "Their bedroom is absolutely amazing. So perfect for 2 girls!! I’d have loved this room growing up." @rachycakes89 typed: "How does this video prove they don’t have their own rooms?? It’s an ad. Some folk need to stay off social media if they can’t just accept content for what it is, rather than making stupid assumptions!"

And others think she could have two future actresses on her hands. @kathy_mahon_singer said: "Wonderful Family and @hjgflanagan and your two beautiful Gurls are wonderful actresses. They have a bright future and their bedroom is gorgeous." @lizzielee89 added: "Little actresses. just like mummy."

Last week Helen shared how she had suffered fresh 'mum guilt' in the lead-up to the festive season. The soap star, like many mums and dads across the country, is trying to keep on top her the Elf on the Shelf antics for her three children. But the mum-of-three took to Instagram on Monday evening to share how she'd dropped a bit of a clanger when it came to the previously mentioned festive character which has become somewhat of a Christmas tradition over the years.

"Mum guilt as two nights in a row I forgot," Helen typed alongside an image of two elves getting in a mess with some flour on a kitchen worktop. There was also a handwritten note to her children from the elves which said they were "so sorry" they were gone over the weekend. "Santa needed our help in the workshop. We made snow angels and we had some fun last night," the message also added to the three kids.
