Cops are probing an Ayr walkway where a man was robbed with a 'three-figure sum' of cash taken.
Officers have swarmed round the secluded path near Lochside Road as they hunt for clues.
A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was robbed whilst walking down the path on Monday morning.
Three police vans and a car were spotted parked on Lochside Road at the scene on Thursday afternoon.
It is understood officers are carrying out enquiries in the area and focusing on searching the walkway.
Detectives yesterday told how they were pouring through CCTV in attempt to identify a suspect.
But CID cops have been unable to provide a description of the culprit at this moment in time.
It comes after police launched a witness appeal following the shocking incident that occurred between 8.30am and 8.55am on Monday, June 26.
The 35-year-old man was taken to Ayr hospital but has since been discharged.
A cyclist is said to have been spotted emerging from the lane at the same time and a woman with a black Labrador was captured walking down the path.
Detective constable Keyes-Parkinson, Ayr CID, said: “Although this robbery happened in what would be considered a secluded or off-the-beaten-track area, it is used by dog walkers, and so we would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen the robbery or anything suspicious, to get in touch.
“From CCTV, a cyclist is seen emerging from the footpath into Lochside Road at almost the same time as the man who was robbed and also we believe there was a woman walking a black Labrador on the path around that time too.
"We’d ask them to get in touch with police as they may have seen something that could help our investigation.”
