Heartwarming card leaves village restaurant staff in tears on Christmas Day

A heartwarming card left staff at a restaurant with a 'tear in their eyes' on Christmas Day.

The festive card was handed to the owner of Panache One in the village of Poynton, near Stockport. Owner Gary McCabe posted a picture of the thoughtful message to the restaurant's Facebook page, initially sharing that he was worried about what was inside the envelope following a challenging few years for the hospitality industry.

However, once the envelope was opened, staff had a 'tear in their eye' and had a 'smile of appreciation', as the writer of the card, who has lived in the area for more than 70 years, said Panache One was a 'wonderful addition' to the village, 'lighting up' the street and making a 'wonderfully joyous centre piece' to the area.
