Scott McGill has signed a new contract at Hearts, keeping the midfielder tied to the Tynecastle club until summer 2023.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Airdrieonians and involved in a League One title push.
And now he has committed his future to the Jambos with a one-year extension to his current contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season.
McGill has made a big impact at New Broomfield during his loan spell, netting a memorable goal on his debut in a Premier Sports Cup victory over derby rivals Motherwell in July and netting four goals in 32 appearances so far.
After his new deal with the Gorgie club was announced, McGill told the Hearts website: “I’m absolutely delighted. I’ve been on loan at Airdrie, working as hard as I can to get a new contract.
"To get it done is great, I’m over the moon.
“Being out on loan has been an amazing experience: I’ve scored a few goals and we’re sitting second – hopefully promotion to come as well.
“My aim now is to try and finish off on a high note with Airdrie and come back for pre-season flying for Hearts and hopefully get into the team.
“I’m a Gorgie boy, so I can’t ask for much more.”
