Heartbroken partner of missing dad Reece Rodger says he's "coming home" after body found

The partner of a missing dad who vanished 10 weeks ago has said he is finally “coming home” in a heartbreaking tribute after a body was found at Loch Rannoch.

Reece Rodger was last seen at the Perthshire beauty spot on Saturday, March 18, while enjoying a camping trip away with friends.

The alarm was raised after his pals were unable to find him the following morning - sparking major land and water searches in a bid to find the 28-year-old.

A body, believed to be the missing Rosyth dad-of-two, was found on Saturday. Paying tribute to her “soul mate”, partner Paula Airzee issued her heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped find him.

She wrote: “Reece we have you. You are coming home. It was never meant to be this way. “We had a very different future mapped out - one where we were together to the end. Our end came so much sooner than we had ever planned.

Reece was reported missing back in March (UGC)

“In time when we’re feeling up to it, myself and Reece’s family will provide updates, but for now, thank you to each and everyone one of you for your love and support.

“Reece you were our everything and to say we are truly broken is an understatement. Our boys have lost their hero and I’ve lost my soul mate.

“Goodnight for now, fly high my angel. I will love you forever.” The grieving mum also shared a moving video showing bouquets of flowers floating in the loch.

Police Scotland confirmed the tragic update at the weekend and said a report had been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 10.45 am on Saturday, 27 May 2023, the body of a man was discovered on the north shore of Loch Rannoch.

“Although the deceased has yet to be formally identified, the family of Fife man Reece Rodger (28), who was last seen on the north shore of Loch Rannoch on Saturday, 18 March 2023, has been made aware.”
