Alyssa Healy will sit out the Twenty20 series against Pakistan but Australian officials are confident she will be fit for the World Cup.

Healy was this week named in a combined squad for the Pakistan series and next month's T20 World Cup defence, after suffering a calf injury in India in December.

But Cricket Australia has since confirmed the vice-captain will not play in the matches against Pakistan, leaving her without a warm-up series going into the World Cup.

Healy is a veteran of eight World Cups across all formats, with her lack of lead-in time unlikely to be a concern for team officials.

The wicketkeeper-batter top-scored in Australia's ODI World Cup final win in March with 170, after scoring 83 in the T20 final win in Melbourne in 2020.

"There were some concerns in India when that injury occurred," coach Shelley Nitschke said.

"But to know she will be on track to play in a World CUp is big news for us. She opens the batting and wicket keeps, and has been part of some big T20s in the past."
