As Boris Johnson announced his resignation outside Downing Street, Mick and Christine Lakin sat in the Wetherspoon pub in Sutton-in-Ashfield watching the sorry spectacle unfold on TV. “Well,” declared 76-year-old Mick philosophically. “He bollocksed that one up.”
