Manchester City fans are happy to see Rico Lewis keep his place in the starting line-up for the visit of Everton.
Pep Guardiola has praised Lewis in recent weeks for his intelligence and after he impressed during the Carabao Cup victory over Liverpool, the teenager was handed a Premier League start against Leeds United on Wednesday. The 18-year-old continued his rich vein of form at Elland Road, producing a solid performance in an intimidating atmosphere.
Despite his good performance in midweek, it was felt that Lewis might be dropped to the bench for the clash with Everton. Both Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo have had a reasonable break since the World Cup and it was thought that one of them would take the spot of Lewis.

However, the teenager remains in the starting XI to face the relegation-threatened Merseyside club in a back four that consists of John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake. City supporters showed how pleased they were for the teenager on Twitter before the match.
Elsewhere in the City team, Guardiola makes one change with club captain Ilkay Gundogan dropping to the bench in favour of Bernardo Silva. Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez both keep their places.
Phil Foden remains on the bench for the Blues having failed to make it into a starting XI since returning from the World Cup and he is joined by Julian Alvarez. Guardiola claimed on Friday that the Argentine would not feature until after New Year's Eve after returning from Argentina.
However, City released a video of Alvarez being welcomed back to training that evening and the Catalan coach has opted to name him among the substitutes for the last match of 2022.
