Former England international Darren Bent is unsure whether Alexis Mac Allister will be a success at Liverpool.
The worst-kept secret in football was officially made public during the week as the Reds made Mac Allister their first summer signing. Around £35million for a World Cup winner has widely been viewed as a bargain by fans and media alike.
Jurgen Klopp is planning a midfield rebuild, with more arrivals expected to follow the Argentine. Finishing the season as Brighton’s top goalscorer - and inspiring them to European football for the first time in their history - is what earned him a Merseyside move.
Reports had linked Mac Allister with rival Premier League clubs before Liverpool ultimately won the race. Given Seagulls midfielder Moses Caicedo is quoted as having a £75million price tag, the Reds appear to have paid a pittance.

"Is he what you (Liverpool) need though?” Bent asked. “Don't get me wrong, I like him.
"I think he's very good. He can't run. What's Liverpool's midfield problem? You've got no legs.
"Don't get me wrong, he's an unbelievable midfield player but when I think of Liverpool in the past and what made you so successful, there are people like Wijnaldum that was rattling around like pace, pace, pace in the middle of the park."
