Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 50s was fatally stabbed in the neck at a home in a quiet west London street on Tuesday morning.
Police were scrambled to the address in Melina Close, Hayes, to reports of a man acting erratically with a knife just after 4.30am.
Alongside paramedics, they found the victim suffering a stab wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. The suspect and victim were known to one another, said police, and no other people are being sought.
The arrested man was taken to hospital to be assessed before being taken into custody.
Met Detective Inspector Adam Guttridge, leading the investigation said: “We are at the very early stages of our investigation and enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances.
“A man is in custody and no other persons are sought by my team at this time. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family.”
