Hayden Panettiere Shares More Details About ‘Very Famous’ Celeb She Was Forced Into Bed With At 18

Hayden Panettiere

More details have been revealed about the “very famous” man Hayden Panettiere was allegedly forced into bed with when she was 18, following claims she also had an Oscar-winner expose himself to her at 19.

In her newly released memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning, the actress shared that the man was a “famous thirty-something British singer-songwriter”.

At the time, she was travelling with a close friend she identifies only by the pseudonym Stella McAmis.

According to Panettiere, the trip took a disturbing turn near the end when McAmis approached her during dinner and asked her to come downstairs to meet someone.

McAmis then guided the Nashville star down a narrow hallway and into a private cabin, where she says she found the “famous thirty-something British singer-songwriter” lying shirtless in bed beneath the sheets.

“‘Oh my God’, I thought. ‘Is he naked under there?’” she wrote, alleging her trusted friend then whispered, “I want you to get in bed with him. He has a huge d–k”, before leaving the two alone in the room.

Panettiere writes that although her heart was “pounding” with fear and her “thoughts were a blur”, she initially went along with her friend’s instructions because she had grown so accustomed to being “managed” by others during her years as a child star.

But once she was left alone with the man, she says she realised she couldn’t allow the situation to progress any further.

“Look,” she remembers saying, “I don’t know what she said to you, but this is not going to happen”. She then hurried out of the room and made arrangements to leave the yacht as soon as possible.

“I wasn’t scared, but I felt like I’d been kicked in the face,” she writes of her former friend’s actions. “She’d confided in me, pampered me, and treated me like her best friend — then turned around and treated me like a call girl. I deserved better than that, by a lot.”

The actress initially made the allegation in the lead-up to her book’s release while appearing on Jay Shetty‘s On Purpose podcast.

During her appearance, the now 36-year-old revealed how she found strength following an alleged incident where a so-called friend made her feel like she was “in danger” when she was just 18.

According to Panettiere, the alleged incident took place while she was attending a boat party with friends. During the party, the actor said she was “led by somebody that I had grown to trust and see as a protector and somebody who had my back” downstairs into a “very small” room.

When they entered, Panettiere claimed the friend, whom she didn’t name, “physically” put her in a bed next to an “undressed” and “very famous” man.

“She physically put me in the bed next to this undressed man who was very famous,” the Heroes star said.

“He had his hands like this,” she said, gesturing that the man had placed his hands behind his head, before adding that he acted “like this was just an average day for him, and this is something that happens all the time”.

Recalling the alleged incident, Panettiere said her adrenaline kicked in, and that she “became ferocious”.

“I was like, ‘This is not happening’,” she said before revealing that she “bolted and hid wherever [she] could think of” on the boat.

“There was no jumping off and swimming away,” she added.

“And I realised that there was nobody who was going to be empathetic to my situation, that this was nothing new to them.”

Reflecting on the ordeal, Panettiere admitted she was taken “by surprise” and was “disappointed” by the friend.

“I’ve been let down so much before that when you really find someone that you trust, you hold on to them for dear life, and you feel so lucky, so just to be betrayed like that, it’s just an awful feeling,” she added.

It prompted Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Diana Jenkins to deny she was the friend of Hayden Panettiere who forced the then-teen into bed.

“Diana has had to deal with false online rumours before, and sadly this is just another example of that,” the RHOBH star’s spokesperson said in a statement to TMZ. “So let me be 100 per cent clear about this: it most certainly is not Diana, and anyone who claims it is her will be sued.”

The dark revelation comes shortly after the beloved actor came out as bisexual, admitting to Us Weekly how she avoided her attraction to women because she felt like she was “forced to be perfect at all times” earlier in her career.

“I was not encouraged to just be myself,” she told the publication.

“No one ever encouraged me to just be myself, and then it came, the period of time, where it felt like people coming out, especially women coming out, and saying that they were bisexual, or liked girls, was a fad.”

In response to the news, Panettiere’s estranged mother, Lesley Vogel, told Daily Mail that it was “interesting timing” for the actor to share it now.

This Is Me: A Reckoning by Panettiere is expected to drop in Australia on May 19.
