Harry Styles mania has gripped the States, with the singer number one at the box office and in the pop charts.
The former One Direction star’s film Don’t Worry Darling pulled in £17.7million in the US over the weekend.
And his hit As It Was has become the longest running No1 on the Billboard singles chart by a British artist.
The song notched up a 15th week on top, breaking a record held jointly by Mark Ronson and Sir Elton John with Uptown Funk and Candle In The Wind.
Directed by Harry’s partner Olivia Wilde, 38, 1950s-set Don’t Worry Darling stars Florence Pugh and Chris Pine alongside 28-year-old Cheshire-born Harry.
It has had plenty of publicity due to reported off-screen friction and reviews have been mixed. But a US film expert said: “There is the small matter of Harry and his star power. He is a massive draw.”
