Harry Styles fans react in shock to singer's extreme new haircut

Harry Styles fans have reacted in shock after the British pop star appeared to have shaved off his famous luscious locks in favour of a buzzcut.

The multi-Grammy winning star showed off his new look while attending U2's show at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, last weekend.

He was seen enjoying the concert with his girlfriend, the Canadian actress Taylor Russell, 29.

A short clip, posted by celebrity site TMZ, shows the pair embracing while listening to U2. In the footage, 29-year-old Styles’ new look is on full show.

Gossip site DeuxMoi was among the first to share an image of the dramatic change last weekend.

Fans of the star reacted in horror at Styles’s - who is known for his flamboyant style and curly hair - new appearance .

“To everyone posting the pic Harry Styles with his shaved head, please stop it’s hurting me emotionally, mentally and physically,” one wrote.

Another said: “Harry styles stick your hair back on right now” while another added: “Harry styles you have 48 hours to grow your hair out of a buzzcut. Less than 48 hours even.”

Meanwhile, another fan penned: “Harry styles did WHAT to his hair???”

Another said: “Harry styles but no hair to style.”

One fan added: “I think the world fell apart after harry styles cut off his long hair,” while another said: “I do not buy Harry Styles shaving his hair off. Absolutely not. Not having it.”

It is not the first time the star has shaved his head.

The singer - who made his name on the X Factor as part of boy band One Direction - cut off his hair to play Alex in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk in 2017.

Meanwhile, a portrait of Harry Styles by David Hockney has gone on display at the National Portrait Gallery as part of a new exhibition dedicated to the artist.

David Hockney: Drawing From Life features more than 30 new portraits, which were created at his art studio in Normandy, France, between 2021 and 2022 and are on show for the first time.

Opening at the London gallery last Thursday, the exhibition boasts around 160 works spanning six decades of the artist’s life.

The painting of pop star Styles depicts the 29-year-old wearing an orange and red striped cardigan and blue jeans paired with a pearl necklace.

The exhibition also features portraits of Hockney’s mother, the late Laura Hockney; his friend, fashion designer Celia Birtwell; his former partner, curator Gregory Evans; and people from his local community in Normandy.
