Harry Maguire would reportedly be open to a transfer to an Italian club with a number of Serie A clubs penning an interest in the Manchester United defender.
The centre-back has come in for persistent criticism for his performances during his stay at Old Trafford, including in Thursday’s Europa League loss to Sevilla, where a mistake led to the home side’s opening goal.
The Manchester Evening News understands that Maguire could be put up for sale by Erik ten Hag this summer with more outgoings expected than incomings. Victor Lindelof also admitted during March’s international break that he will be assessing his options at the end of the season.

Both have featured in the last two United games due to injuries to first-choice pairing Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane although Maguire is suspended for the meeting with Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday.
A report from 90min claims club captain Maguire is open on the idea of a move to Serie A. English centre-halves Chris Smalling and Fikayo Tomori have excelled after making moves to Italy.
Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan have all apparently flagged their interest in the 30-year-old, albeit only on loan given his big wages. United, however, may prefer a sale as they try to stay within Financial Fair Play rules following last summer’s £225m spend.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports United could potentially open up 16 more players for departures. It claims offers for Lindelof, Scott McTominay, Fred, Donny van de Beek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial would be considered.
Eric Bailly is expected to be chopped while United are willing to allow Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe’s contracts to expire with Dean Henderson tipped to be sold.
Anthony Elanga, the report says, could be shown the door while an offer for loanee Wout Weghorst is not anticipated with no decision yet made over Marcel Sabitzer.
MEN Sport understands that Alex Telles and Brandon Williams are also destined for the transfer list too.
