Jermain Defoe has insisted that Harry Kane and Antonio Conte will likely be having talks over their futures at Tottenham as speculation around both continues to persist.
Last summer saw Kane push for a move to Manchester City after reportedly being promised a move by club chairman Daniel Levy only for Tottenham's asking price to not be met. While Conte is known for bringing success to sides, there are fears that he will not receive satisfactory backing to keep him in north London for the long-term.
A report from The Mirror in March stated that Manchester United were plotting a fresh summer move for Harry Kane, as they look to give their new manager a boost for the 2022-23 campaign. With Mauricio Pochettino linked with the Old Trafford job, it could be a match made in heaven.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham's clash with Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, Defoe offered insight into the situation, insisting that Kane will be in dialogue with people around the club, including Conte, saying: "As players you talk about winning trophies and playing at top clubs under top managers.
"Conte has come here and now he’s playing under a top manager that’s won leagues and titles. Kane is in a situation now where he’ll probably be speaking to the manager saying ‘what’s happening are you staying or going?’"
Graeme Souness echoed Defoe's thoughts, instructing Kane to demand answers from the powers that be at the club over the summer plans. He said: "If I’m Harry, I’ll be saying to the manager ‘have you got money to spend? You will make this current group better’.
"The manager isn’t going to hang around here if he hasn’t got the money to spend. The manager wants to be winning trophies, league titles, Champions League, not settling for fifth or sixth."
