Harry Kane 'likely' to stay at Spurs in huge Ange Postecoglou boost

Harry Kane is reportedly set to stay at Tottenham despite the club accepting Bayern Munich's latest offer.

Sky Sports claims that the captain is "increasingly likely" to stick around at Spurs for the season ahead.

If this turns out to be the case, then it will be a huge boost for Ange Postecoglou as he gets ready for his bow as a Premier League manager this weekend.

It was this morning revealed that Bayern had a €100million bid accepted by the North London club.

The German giants had several offers knocked back by Spurs, but Daniel Levy finally agreed on a fee.

The ball is very much in Kane's court now. He has just one year remaining on his contract at his boyhood club and will likely leave on a free transfer next summer.

The England skipper has made it no secret that he wants to win trophies such as league titles and the Champions League.

Now aged 30, it appears he's thinking long and hard about where would be best for him to achieve such ambitions.

However, while he may well decide to go ahead with the move to Bayern, it's not set in stone yet.

The Premier League goalscoring record, Alan Shearer's 260 strikes, is still up for grabs too, which Kane is expected to break.

Tottenham get their season underway at Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

And Chris Sutton has claimed that Harry Kane will have "stuffed" Ange Postecoglou if he decides to leave the club now.

Reacting to the news that Spurs have accepted an offer, Sutton tweeted: "If Harry Kane leaves Tottenham now he will have stuffed Ange Postecoglou.

"It’s ridiculous him leaving 3 days before Tottenham’s first game…"
