England captain and Spurs striker Harry Kane has praised Crystal Palace duo Tyrick Mitchell and Marc Guehi for settling into the senior Three Lions squad for the first time.
The Eagles defenders earned their first call ups to the senior England squad this week, having impressed throughout the course of the season working under Patrick Vieira at Selhurst Park. Centre-back Guehi (21) has quickly become one of Palace’s most important players after signing from Chelsea over the summer while Mitchell (22) has backed up his breakthrough season under Roy Hodgson last year by starting every Premier League game at left-back under Vieira.
Their form led Gareth Southgate to bring the pair into the England squad alongside teammate Conor Gallagher for the upcoming international friendlies with Switzerland and Ivory Coast at Wembley. They are two of the three new faces in the squad, along with Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters.

And England skipper Kane has been full of praise for the way all three new additions have settled into the squad, with the Tottenham man speaking during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
"It is great to have new faces in the squad, young faces, I feel like I am getting older and older by the day,” said Kane. “It is great to see them. I obviously know Kyle [Walker-Peters] from when he was at Spurs, he is a great lad, he works really hard and he has done really well at Southampton.
"With Marc and Tyrick have come in and settled in well and it is really good for the squad. It is good to have young players coming through and we are excited to see them over the next week or so."
