Harry and Meghan's Netflix series 'tipped to win award that could lead to more projects'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been tipped for a massive win at a famed awards ceremony, which follows on from the success of their six-part Netflix docuseries which came out last year.

Variety has said that the Netflix series, entitled Harry & Meghan, could be in the running for a nomination at the upcoming 2023 Primetime Emmy awards, with an expert now weighing in about what this could mean for the couple.

According to an expert, this exciting prospect proves to Netflix that "they [the Duke and Duchess] have the staying power for them to continue bankrolling the couple's projects".

Meghan and Harry's series broke streaming records for the digital platform, and although it also faced a lot of backlash because of the bombshell claims that were made, with it tipped for such a prestigious award, this fresh news could bode well for the pair.

Mark Boardman, founder of MarkMeets, told Newsweek that should the Duke and Duchess receive the nomination, it could lead them to securing future opportunities and business deals.

He told the publication that "being predicted for inclusion for an Emmy award alone is a significant achievement in the television industry" with him urging that it "carries immense importance and relevance for the Sussexes".

"What the couple need right now is industry validation and this is just what has happened from Variety in including their show as a predicted nominee in the Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction category," he added.

Mark then said that because of his expertise in the industry, he is "certain" that there is a "very good chance" that the couple's series could receive a nomination.

He also seemed to predict them placing in the top three to win the category, should they get nominated.

He concluded with: "This could be a shot at an award win as they need to prove to Netflix that they have the staying power for them to continue bankrolling the couple's projects."

The iconic ceremony, which awards the best of the best within the television industry in America, as well as globally, is set to take place on September 19 in Los Angeles, with nominees announced next month.

This comes after it was reported that the couple will no longer write books or make documentaries, with The Sun claiming that they will now remain behind the camera rather than in front of it.

A source told the paper: "That period of their life is over — as there is nothing left to say."
