The recent release of the Consumer Price Index has sparked optimism within the Harris campaign, as the key report on inflation revealed a slowdown in price hikes for July, dropping below 3% for the first time in over three years.

A spokesperson for the Harris-Walz 2024 campaign, Joseph Costello, highlighted the significance of this development, stating that the current inflation rate is the lowest it has been in more than three years, signaling a robust economy. Costello also took the opportunity to criticize the economic policies of Donald Trump, suggesting that they would lead to adverse effects such as tax breaks for large corporations, increased costs for the middle class, and a potential recession.

Vice President Harris is scheduled to unveil her economic policy agenda in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday. Costello emphasized that Harris aims to prioritize strengthening the middle class as a central objective of her presidency.

Costello outlined some of the key elements of Harris's economic plan, which include addressing price gouging by corporations, prohibiting hidden fees, and implementing measures to limit unjustified rent hikes and prescription drug expenses.
