Hannah Montana Turns 20: A Tour Through Miley Cyrus’ Iconic Real Estate Evolution – From a Tennessee Farmhouse to a Malibu Mansion

Miley Cyrus and Malibu.

It's sometimes easy to forget that the pop superstar Miley Cyrus was first propelled into the spotlight at the tender age of 13 as the lead in the Disney show, Hannah Montana. As the show celebrates its 20th anniversary, we take a look at the property portfolio that Miley Cyrus – goddaughter of Dolly Parton and daughter of singer/songwriter Billy Ray and Interior designer Tish Cyrus – has acquired over the two decades during which she forged her hugely successful career.

From her most recent purchase – a chic and minimal $8 million Malibu mansion – to a 33-acre Tennessee Farmhouse that took her back to her Nashville roots, Miley Cyrus' property purchases and sales really are part of her story and reflect the many different house design styles that the star portrays through her music and fashion, from Southern country to rock & roll. Are you ready to take a tour?

1. Studio City Starter Home

Reportedly purchased for $3.9 Million in 2011. Miley Cyrus' 5-bed, 7-bath property in Studio City, near Toluca Lake (close to the Tuscan mansion where she grew up with her family as a child star in Hannah Montana), is often dubbed her 'starter home', as the star was just 18 at the time. Featuring a pool, spa, and yoga room, there's a definite wellbeing vibe to this property, which Miley still reportedly owns. Perhaps it's a nostalgic reminder of where she started out.

2. Rock & Roll Hidden Hills Retreat

A 6,800-square-foot Southern California home was Miley's first foray into Malibu real estate. The whole property was designed by her mum – the star's manager and interior designer – Tish Cyrus, in Miley's iconic loud style. The interiors feature black walls, splashes of bold color, neon lights, and animal print to reflect Miley's very personal maximalist decor ideas. Take a look at her tiger-wallpapered bathroom, which saw the Gucci print go viral. While her zebra dining chairs made an equally stand-out feature. Miley reportedly sold the property in 2022 for a cool $7 million.

3. Southern Style Tennessee Farmhouse

Miley Cyrus went back to her roots, by investing in a 33-acre farmhouse in Franklin, Tennessee, near her beloved Nashville birthplace, in 2017 for a reported $5.8 million. The 6-bed farmhouse was full of Southern charm, including plenty of wood, rustic features, an industrial-leaning kitchen and even came with its own separate barn. Miley sold it in 2022 for a significant profit, for $14.5 million – apparently one of the region's biggest real estate deals of the year.

4. Mediterranean-Style Malibu Mansion

The most expensive property in her portfolio, which the singer purchased in 2022 for $7.9 million is Miley Cyrus' Malibu villa. The 6-bed, 6-bath estate boasts over 6,500 sq ft and ocean views from the private gated hillside community. The decor leans minimal, with whitewashed walls and Mediterranean-inspired elements, such as tiled flooring, arched doorways, and wooden outdoor furniture.
