Hailey Bieber thanks Selena Gomez for message to fans amid 'feud' between stars

Hailey Bieber has thanked Selena Gomez for her supportive message on Instagram to her fans amid death threats to the model over their ongoing "feud".

Selena and Hailey have regularly been accused of throwing shade at each other, but they tried to put feud rumours to bed last October when they publicly posed for pictures together.

However, they have both been caught in a new storm which began with claims that Kylie Jenner 'mocked' Gomez' eyebrows, something which the reality TV star denies.

From there things have spiralled out of control, with Selena taking a break from social media and defending "best friend" Taylor Swift after old footage came to light of her being mocked by Hailey.

However, Selena, who is the most followed person in the world on the social media platform with a whooping 403 million fans, spoke out on Friday with a message on Instagram detailing how Hailey had reached out to let her know that she was "receiving death threats".

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Selena said: "Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity.

"This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying."

Hailey has since responded on her own Instagram Stories with a lengthy message message about the situation, saying that the "last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved".

She wrote: "I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I.

"The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful.

"While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.

"Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself.

"In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion."
