Gunshots were blasted at the window of a house in Salford - just days before another shooting in the city.

Police were alerted to a 'disturbance' on McCready Drive on Tuesday, December 27. Shots had been fired at the ground-floor window of a house.

Bullet holes were found in the glass, police said. Detectives believe the shooting happened between Friday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 27.

No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made yet.

This happened just days before another shooting at a house on Rye Croft Avenue. On New Year's Day (January 1), at around 12.50am, a gunman shot through the front ground-floor window a house on the street.

Again in this incident, no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. Police said today (January 9) that the two shootings are not believed to be connected at this stage.

Anyone with information about the incident on McCready Drive is being urged to get in touch with officers. Police particularly want to speak to witnesses or anyone with doorbell footage.

GMP can be contacted on 0161 856 5235 or 101 quoting incident number 1985 of 27/12/22. Alternatively, details can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
