Gujarat HC issues notice after senior citizen complains of noise pollution during festivals

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat high court on Thursday issued notice to the authorities concerned over a petition filed by a senior citizen complaining about noise pollution in his housing society in Ahmedabad by using loudspeakers during the festivals of Navratri and Ganesh Mahotsav.

Kanubhai Barot (72), a resident of Ganesh Home in New Ranip area, has filed a petition through advocate Dharmesh Gurjar complaining that the managing committee of his residential society organise garba programme and Ganesh Mahotsav and play loudspeakers with full volumes. Barot, being of advanced age, wants to live in a peaceful condition and he has to face great hardship due to the high volume of loudspeakers blaring in his society.
