'GTA 6' Will Not Have Disney World, SeaWorld Despite 'Full Florida Experience' Promise

Rockstar Games has set an extraordinarily high bar for its upcoming open world by promising the most culturally and aesthetically accurate version of Florida ever put into a video game.

Yet as "Grand Theft Auto VI" draws closer to its November release, players are learning exactly which parts of Florida the studio will not be recreating, and two of the state's most iconic landmarks sit firmly in that category.

'GTA VI' Is Not Adding a Disney World In-Game

Rockstar has not officially confirmed or denied plans for a Disney World parody inside the game, but the question has effectively been answered through what the studio has made clear about its broader approach to intellectual property. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated explicitly earlier this year that "GTA VI" will not feature real-world brands in any form.

Speaking at the iicon games industry conference in Las Vegas, Zelnick said the entire world of "Grand Theft Auto" is fictional and everything within it is fictional, meaning the studio is not at risk of brand partnerships because every brand in the game is made up.

That policy effectively rules out any literal recreation of Walt Disney World, since Disney holds an enormous catalog of trademarks and copyrights tied to its parks, including ride names, character designs, architectural features, and even the park's general layout. A parodied version that takes creative liberties the way Rockstar has done before with other businesses could still theoretically appear, and fans have speculated based on leaked world event names like Fairyland Forest Puzzle that something along those lines might be tucked inside the map.

But Rockstar itself has never confirmed that such a location exists, and the studio has not specifically addressed Disney World in any of its official communications around the game.

SeaWorld Will Also Be Unavailable in 'GTA 6'

SeaWorld, which operates a park in Orlando not far from Walt Disney World, falls into the same category for the same underlying reasons. Since every brand and real-world institution in "GTA VI" is being replaced with a fictional parody version rather than licensed directly, a real SeaWorld named or depicted as such would not fit the template Rockstar has maintained across the franchise's history.

Any marine-themed park that players encounter in the game would be a Rockstar-created fiction, not a recognizable SeaWorld property by name or branding.

The absence of these specific attractions does not mean Leonida, the game's fictional version of Florida, will lack theme park-style entertainment entirely. Leaks and reports pointing to a location that fans have connected to a potential Disney stand-in, possibly under a name like Fairyland, suggest Rockstar may have created its own fictional park that parodies the concept without stepping on the actual Disney brand.

Similar logic applies to marine entertainment parks. But until Rockstar officially reveals what is inside the map at launch, specific details about any fictional park remain speculative.

Rockstar Games Is Avoiding Major Theme Parks

The broader principle at work here is consistent with how the studio has handled the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise across multiple decades. Rockstar has never licensed real-world trademarks for the series, instead creating fictional equivalents that satirize the originals.

"Grand Theft Auto V" featured a Rockstar stand-in for Facebook called Lifeinvader, a parody of McDonald's in the form of Cluckin' Bell, and a cable news channel called Weazel News clearly modeled after Fox News. Even Apple's iPhone became the iFruit inside the game world.

Zelnick said the decision is driven by a desire to stay true to the underlying intellectual property and to the audience that has followed the franchise for decades, arguing that players can sense when something in the world feels like a genuine advertisement.

He pointed out that other Take-Two games like the NBA 2K series feature real brands naturally because those brands exist authentically within basketball culture, whereas Grand Theft Auto operates in a fictional universe where that logic does not apply.

Rockstar Claims 'Full Florida Experience' in 'GTA VI'

Despite the absence of real-world landmarks, Rockstar has described its vision for Leonida as the most culturally and aesthetically accurate and lifelike version of Florida it could build, according to interviews cited in Game Informer's recent 14-page cover story on the game. Lead designers at the studio spoke to the publication about how deeply the team researched Miami and the broader state of Florida in order to create a world that feels genuinely lived in rather than like a surface-level impression.

That research extended to the kinds of details players might not immediately notice, including ecological accuracy and regional atmospheric character. The Leonida map currently encompasses six confirmed regions, with Vice City, the game's fictional version of Miami, sitting at the center alongside areas modeled after South Florida's diverse landscape, from urban density to swampland, marshes, and beaches.

What Are The Other Confirmed Features, Experiences?

The Game Informer cover story, which became available to digital subscribers on September 29 and covers Issue 382 of the magazine, focused heavily on three areas that had not been publicly detailed before.

The first is the game's advanced weather system, built specifically to replicate the less predictable side of Florida's climate. Rockstar confirmed it is simulating Florida's full range of weather phenomena rather than defaulting to perpetual sunshine, which means players should expect tropical storms, intense rainfall, and the kind of sudden severe weather that anyone familiar with the region will recognize immediately.

The second major area is wildlife. Rockstar described a staggering number of animal species living across Leonida's land, air, and sea. The animal list reportedly includes both species native to Florida and others that are not, reflecting the mix that actually exists in the real Florida ecosystem, where imported and exotic species are commonly encountered alongside the native fauna.

Alligators, birds of prey, and marine creatures have all appeared in trailers, suggesting a layered ecosystem rather than decorative animals placed for visual variety.

The third pillar of the Game Informer reveal centers on how deeply Rockstar's team studied real Miami and Florida, including cultural touchstones, regional slang, visual aesthetics, and community dynamics, to ensure the game's world reflects something closer to a genuine document of the place rather than a Hollywood approximation of it.

Additional details confirmed separately through the Game Informer cover story coverage and the Netflix Extended Look earlier in August include a fast travel system, an expanded set of side activities including hunting and fishing, and a new character progression system for both Jason and Lucia, though specific mechanics around that progression have not been fully detailed publicly.
