GTA 6 is really, truly on track for its November release date, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reiterates, in words we can only hope don't end up aging poorly (again).
Zelnick was approached for an interview out on the street by TikTok account The School of Hard Knocks, who jumps straight to the point by asking the Take-Two CEO how he got rich. The Rockstar Games owner is initially confused how anyone could tell just by looking: "I look like everyone else on the street, I'm just wearing a blue suit," he says, wearing a black suit that's had me questioning whether we've got another white and gold or blue and black dress situation on our hands for the last 30 minutes.
Anyway, regardless of how the interviewer deduced it, obviously, Zelnick is rather rich, and he points to a niche series you may or may not have heard of – Grand Theft Auto. Directly questioned when GTA 6 is launching, Zelnick reiterates the same date we've been told since last November – "November 19."

Why has it taken so long, though? "The team at Rockstar really does seek to do something that's never been done before. That's really hard and it takes a long time," Zelnick says. It's nothing he's not said before – back in May 2024, the Take-Two boss teased that "it's about creating an experience that no one has seen before, and Rockstar Games seeks perfection." No pressure on the devs, then.
Zelnick is also asked to share some business advice, to which he says: "Never compromise your integrity, it's the only thing you have." You "unquestionably" have to keep your word when it comes to business, he reiterates. Hopefully, that's an additional good sign for GTA 6 meeting its November release date and truly being as good as Zelnick says.
While he's not talking about GTA 6 specifically, he also says that while "everyone's looking for an overnight success," he finds that "the only overnight successes are someone else's," and "everything worth doing is hard and takes a long time." Given that we're approaching 13 years since the launch of GTA 5… yeah, that tracks.
At this point, I don't blame anyone who's still hesitant to believe the latest release date for GTA 6. After all, this is the same guy who once told us "we feel really good" about the old 2025 release window. Perhaps folks will feel a bit more confident when Rockstar Games kicks off the game's marketing in earnest, something which is apparently supposed to begin sometime this summer.
