A retired soldier lead a syndicate to collect a huge prize at the Lotto HQ in Dublin after winning big in Wednesday night’s draw.
The syndicate, made up of a group of friends, matched five out of six winning numbers as well as the bonus ball to scoop a prize of €364,219.
The group relived the excitement they experienced when they found out about their huge win late on Wednesday night and the leader said he shared it in the WhatsApp group straight away.

“You will never meet a more deserving group of people to win a prize like this and I’m thrilled for the group,” said the head of the syndicate, who is a retired professional soldier.
“I organise the Lotto tickets through my online lottery account and shortly after the draw, I received an email from the National Lottery telling me that I had some good news about my ticket.
"I didn’t get too carried away at first but once I opened the email and seen that the prize was worth over €350,000 – I was in complete shock!
"I knew they wouldn’t believe me at first so I took a picture of the screen on my phone and dropped it straight into the WhatsApp group so that they could share in the excitement straight away."
The winning numbers in Wednesday night's Lotto draw were; 7, 11, 20, 34, 36, 45 and the bonus number was 17. There was no winner of the jackpot and the top €5 million prize went unclaimed.
Also claiming a massive National Lottery prize was a jubilant syndicate from Co. Laois who were celebrating after they won €200,000 on a €10 All Cash Spectacular scratch card.
The winning scratch card was purchased at Breslin’s SuperValu store in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.
