A fire that ripped through a ground floor flat is being treated as a suspected arson attack.
Merseyside Police has opened an investigation into the flat fire on Lister Drive, Tuebrook and said circumstances "may be suspicious". The emergency services were called to the block of flats at around 4.30pm on Sunday, August 28 after reports of a fire.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were first on the scene where they found a flat fire on the ground floor. Fire crews checked neighbouring properties for signs of fire and smoke spread. A full evacuation of the remaining flats also took place.

An eyewitness of the incident told the ECHO on Sunday that she heard "lots of shouting and then a massive bang". The woman, who did want to be named, said: I'm feeling quite shaken up. First I heard was a lot of shouting and then the bang.
"It gets quite rowdy around here so I didn't think anything of it at first. There was another incident in the flats last week. Next thing I knew there were loads of sirens and all the police and fire engines turned up."
A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed everyone in the block of flats was accounted for. They added one person from a neighbouring flat was assessed for slight smoke inhalation by North West Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene.
The scene was handed over to Merseyside Police at around 6pm. Eyewitnesses told the ECHO the police cordoned off an area outside the block of flats shortly after the fire service left.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson confirmed to the ECHO detectives are appealing for information as they launch an investigation into the suspected arson. They said the circumstances are unconfirmed at this stage but may be suspicious.
