The pair behind social media sensation LadBaby have announced the return of Greg The Sausage Roll in his second Christmas calamity. Greg The Sausage Roll: The Perfect Present sees the savoury character head off on another adventure that promises kids and grown-ups a sack full of festive giggles.
The book is the follow-up to Sunday Times bestseller Greg The Sausage Roll: Santa's Little Helper and will be released on November 10. Writers Mark and Roxanne Hoyle will be going on tour to promote it while encouraging kids to "unlock their dyslexic power".
In just four years, the Hoyles have amassed a global audience of 12million on LadBaby with their videos on parent hacks and budget-saving tips. Both are dyslexic and are keen to ensure all children get the chance to read.
They said: "We've both got dyslexia and are so well aware that engaging kids from an early age in fun and comical storytelling is incredibly important to get them into reading. We also want kids to know that being dyslexic is a gift, not a hindrance.
"We never, ever thought we would be bestselling authors! We are keen to encourage children to unlock their creative superpowers!"
Mark and Roxanne will again work closely with Puffin, the National Literacy Trust and WHSmith to donate books to children. Puffin has pledged to donate a book to a child in need with every copy pre-ordered or purchased from WHSmith.
According to data from the National Literacy Trust, 6% of children in the UK say they don’t own a book of their own. This equates to over 400,000 children.
"It’s so important that all children can access books, so we are thrilled to be once again partnering with Puffin, the National Literacy Trust and WHSmith to donate books to children most in need across the UK," said the Hoyles. "As we move forward with Greg’s adventures we hope that the fun storytelling continues to get kids into reading.
"As everyone knows, we are firm believers in the power of sausage rolls to bring happiness to everyone's lives and we hope that Greg can spread a little more happiness this Christmas.
The book tour will stop at Nottingham, Essex, Birmingham and Manchester. Tickets are available via waterstones.com/tickets from 10am on Friday and pre-orders of the book, which is illustrated by Gareth Conway, are available on Amazon, WHSmith and Waterstones websites.
