Greens to force Holyrood vote on doubling Scottish Child Payment

HOLYROOD is set to consider plans to nearly double the Scottish Child Payment over the next five years.

The Scottish Greens have tabled an amendment to the SNP’s Programme for Government, unveiled by John Swinney earlier this week, calling for the benefit to hit “at least” £55 a week by the end of the current parliamentary term.
