Green suffers near miss at LPGA's Maybank Championship

Hannah Green has fallen painfully short of continuing Australia's incredible year on the LPGA Tour with a dramatic play-off loss at the $4.5 million Maybank Championship in Malaysia.

A week after holing Australia's winning putt at women's golf's unofficial World Cup in Seoul, Green looked set to ride her luck to back-to-back victories on the Asian swing.

Alas, the 27-year-old faltered just when she had the advantage on the first extra hole of a three-way sudden-death play-off at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
