Greece holiday update as country scraps all Covid travel rules before summer

Greece has axed all Covid rules and restrictions in time for summer.

According to the UK government website, travellers arriving from the UK do not need to show a vaccine certificate or proof of a negative test.

Unvaccinated visitors are also able to enter the country without testing prior to travel.

From May 1, holidaymakers no longer need to show proof of vaccinations to enter shops and restaurants.

Face masks still need to be worn in public spaces, but this will be scrapped just before summer holidays kick off on June 1.

It comes after Greece scrapped Passenger Locator Forms last month in a welcome boost for holidaymakers.

To fly in or out of the country, travellers were previously required to show either a vaccination passport, a certificate saying they had recovered from coronavirus or a negative test.

It’s worth keeping an eye on the Foreign Office guidelines for Greece if you’re planning on visiting.

Covid restrictions are now a thing of the past in Scotland, but regulations in countries differ widely.

The requirements also depend on the countries where your trip originates and arrives, as well as the airports themselves.
