Kym Marsh is living out her own teenage dream in Newcastle this week, as she stars in smash hit Take That musical Greatest Days, with her revealing that there's one particular element to the show that keeps surprising its audiences.
A big fan of the much loved group back in the day, confessing to a particular crush on Mark Owen, Kym leads the cast of the show has been rebranded from The Band, in the lead up to the big screen version being released to cinemas. Kym plays Rachel, a woman in her 40s, who has become stuck in a rut, only for her to win the trip of a lifetime and a chance to see the group she fell in love with decades earlier to reunite with friends torn apart by tragedy.
Former Hear'say star Kym's star turn in Greatest Days comes as she's at the centre of some serious drama in the latest hit series of returning BBC favourite Waterloo Road, which fans have been rushing to binge watch in its entirety over the last weeks.
And just like Waterloo Road, Greatest Days has its own die hard fans who keep going back to see it again and again and those who go expecting something entirely different.
Kym told Chronicle Live: "People just love it but I know a lot of those who've come to see the show have been surprised that it's a Take That biopic. I think a lot of people expect it to be based around them and their career but the story is genius and creates so many different emotions.
"It's really relatable as the women were once girls who big dreams of what they wanted to achieve in life and the thing they had in common as kids was their love for this one band.
"Twenty five years later its the music that brings them back together - it's a constant thing for them in the good and bad times."
And as for all the Take That classics in the show? "It never gets boring hearing them all. They have so many wonderful songs."
