THE organisers of the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow have said they are "really sorry" as they announced that some of this year's events have been cancelled.
It's due to "risks" associated with the high winds and weather warning currently looming ahead of the running races this weekend.

It comes as Storm Amy has officially been named as the latest system set to batter Glasgow.
A yellow weather warning will cover the city from 6pm on Friday, October 3, until 11.59pm on Saturday, October 4.
Forecasters say the storm will bring strong winds and heavy rain, creating a risk of flooding and posing what they say is a “danger to life.”
A spokesperson for the organisers said: "We’re really sorry to confirm that this year's Junior and Mini Great Scottish Run, scheduled to take place on Saturday 4 October, has been cancelled due to the forecasted high winds and rain.
"Sunday’s 10K and Half Marathon events will continue as scheduled with the weather set to improve on Sunday.
"The forecasted winds and gusts compromise our event infrastructure including our medical facilities.
"This, combined with the risk from potential debris, means that we can’t guarantee the safe delivery of the Saturday Junior and Mini event.
"Safety of our participants, staff and volunteers is our number one priority.
"We haven’t taken this decision lightly and have been liaising closely with the Met Office, medical & safety teams, local authorities and key stakeholders throughout the week to make the best-informed decision.
"We have communicated the event cancellation to all participants, with details about how they can roll their entry over into next year’s event or claim a refund.
"We’re also going to send the event medal to all Junior, Mini and Toddler Dash participants so that they can complete their own runs and wear the medals with pride.
"We know how disappointing this news is, and we hope everyone can understand why this decision has been made."

It comes as ScotRail has warned those travelling into the city centre of major disruption ahead of an event this weekend.
The train operator has shared an update ahead of the Great Scottish Run, which will be taking place on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
They say they'll be unable to run their bus services from Glasgow Central station while the run is taking place, from midday until 5pm.
