CHENNAI: Aravindh Chithambaram scored the biggest win of his life when he defeated Arjun Erigaisi in the Masters Section of the Chennai Grandmasters tournament on Sunday.
A 48-move win with Trompowsky attack with white pieces in the penultimate round at Anna Centenary Library means the seven-round classical tournament is wide open. Levon Aronian caught up with overnight sole leader Arjun on four points. He and Vidit Gujrathi played a 64-move draw in Modern Bishop's opening in which only kings remained on the board.
