The transfer window may have just recently finished and with in the region of £600million spent this season, Chelsea have surpassed the total spending of all clubs in the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1. However, few would argue that Graham Potter currently has a complete side at his disposal.
The west London certainly have increased their options however and the £106.7million signing of Enzo Fernandez has added a player in a position that has long needed strengthening and could soon see a great deal of turnover. Jorginho has already departed and N'Golo Kante will currently see his deal expire in the summer. Both Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are set to enter the final year of their contracts in the summer too.
Fernandez has reduced the average age of Potter's midfield and already produced an impressive performance against Fulham. However, the club's long term plan may not simply see the World Cup winner as a holding midfielder.
