The Reds striker recently made his first two appearances for the club following his £64million transfer from Benfica. Nunez played half an hour in the 4-0 defeat to Manchester United, and then a similar length of time in the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

However, he endured frustrating moments in both games with a miss against United catching the eye. While in the win over Palace, Nunez was denied by goalkeeper Vicente Guaita with a close-range strike.

“The boy, Nunez, I think he will be an outstanding success,” he told talkSPORT. “In terms of his size and he wants to run forward without the ball, I think he would be a great addition.”
