A seven-year-old girl who died following an incident in a swimming pool in Spain has been named. Grace Mary Sweeney sadly lost her fight for life in hospital on June 23, two days after she was pulled from a hotel pool in Majorca.
Tributes are being paid to the youngster who was described as a 'beautiful angel' by those who knew her. She lived in Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, but had previously been living in Co Antrim, the Irish Mirror reports.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday at St. Michael’s Church, Creeslough, and she will be buried afterwards in the nearby Doe Cemetery. Her family have asked people attending the funeral to wear 'bright' coloured clothes, rather than traditional black colours, as Grace loved them.
