A medic for Man City FC plunged 300ft to his death when he and his wife set out to revisit a mountain ridge where he proposed 27 years before.
Dr Jamie Butler, who became senior medical officer with the team in 2009, popped the question to his wife Margaret on Striding Edge in the Lake District in 1994.
They wanted to repeat the romantic event and visited the Lake District National Park to revisit the fond memory.
