Govt. must hold talks with association before issuing G.O.s on PRC: teachers

Members of the Justice for PRC Committee of Teachers’ Associations took out a rally from the STU office and posted signed letters, listing out their demands, to the Chief Minister from the Kurnool Head Post Office on Sunday morning.

The Justice for Pay Revision Commission convening committee member and Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Federation(APTF) State president G. Hrudaya Raju said that the government held talks with associations in the past while issuing new G.O.s regarding new PRCs, but it was not the case this time. The recent announcement has affected 13 lakh employees, he said.

“The government must invite the teachers and other government employees for final talks before issuing the G.Os with regard to the new PRC,” said Andhra Pradesh Primary Teachers’ Association(APPTA) State Secretary K. Prakasa Rao.

They demanded scrapping of Contributory Pension System(CPS), enhancement of fitment to 27%, monetary benefits to those retired from April 2020, regularisation of contract workers and regular scales to the Secretariat staff.

Time scale for outsourced employees is also a must, they said, in the signed representation posted at the Kurnool Head Post Office on Sunday.
