Govee has launched the new Ceiling Light Ultra after it first appeared on the CSA database last December. It's designed to act more like a display, capable of showing detailed, figurative lighting effects.
It's currently available to buy now for $249.99 via Govee’s website and Amazon, and is exclusive to the US for now.
Govee has launched the new Ceiling Light Ultra, and according to the brand, it’s the first ceiling light capable of displaying figurative lighting effects. This includes actual shapes, patterns and more expressive light designs, not just colours and gradients.
Govee has released a range of smart ceiling lights before – including the standard Ceiling Light – but this model is more advanced than ever. It uses a screen-style matrix design, which helps visuals appear more natural and less distorted, rather than just blurred blocks of colour.
It’s available to buy now for $249.99 via Govee’s website and Amazon. Like a lot of Govee’s recent launches, it’s currently exclusive to the US, but there’s a good chance it’ll expand to other regions soon.

We first caught wind of the Ceiling Light Ultra late last year when it appeared on the CSA database, with early details pointing to a dual-source lighting setup. That’s now been confirmed, as the light uses dual white-light LEDs across both the main panel and backlighting system, which helps improve brightness and overall lighting quality.
The Ceiling Light Ultra delivers up to 5,000 lumens, which is very impressive for a ceiling light. You also get an adjustable colour temperature range from 2700K to 6500K, so it can easily shift from a warm glow in the evening to a brighter light for daytime tasks.
Another standout feature is Govee’s DaySync system, which automatically adjusts brightness, colour and temperature throughout the day based on local time and your daily routine. It’s designed to make your lighting feel more natural without you having to constantly tweak settings yourself.
