Gov. Walz Leads Sen. Vance In Vice Presidential Favorability

A recent survey conducted on the vice presidential candidates for the 2024 election has revealed interesting insights into the favorability ratings of Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Republican Sen. JD Vance from Ohio.

According to the survey results, Gov. Tim Walz currently enjoys a higher favorability rating among voters compared to Sen. JD Vance. The survey found that 39% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Walz, while 30% hold an unfavorable view of him. On the other hand, Vance garnered a 32% favorability rating, with 42% of respondents expressing an unfavorable opinion of him.

It is worth noting that a significant portion of respondents did not provide an opinion on either candidate, with 31% declining to answer the question about Walz and 26% not responding to the question about Vance.

Among specific demographic groups, the survey highlighted interesting trends. Sen. JD Vance holds a 13-point lead over Gov. Tim Walz among rural voters, while he enjoys a significant net positive rating of 37 points among White evangelical Protestants. However, Walz maintains a 16-point lead among individuals under 40 years old and is viewed more positively by both men and women.

Looking ahead, both candidates are expected to face off in the first vice presidential debate scheduled for October 1. The survey was conducted from August 9 to 13 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
