Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid taken aback by 'something different' about Al Murray

Susanna Reid was taken aback by Al Murray's appearance change on Good Morning Britain.

The 52-year-old broadcaster fronted today's edition of the ITV news programme alongside Richard Madeley. The two covered the major news stories of the day in a jam-packed episode.

They interviewed the popular comedian in the final segment of Tuesday's show. Al appeared on the programme to discuss the upcoming Spitting Image musical at the Albert Hall.

The comic is renowned for his Pub Landlord persona, which see him perform with a bald head and clean shaven look. However, she was surprised when Al sported a beard and full head of hair during today's show.

She said: "I was thinking something is different about you and I was thinking it was because you haven't shaved. But, of course, yeah, you have hair." Richard added: "I was gonna say have you lost weight?"

Al shot back: "They always say 'have you lost weight'. I get sent things on Instagram 'would I like baldness cures' but I don't need to."

Richard questioned the comedian if he ever feels as though he has "created a monster" as he is so renowned for his alter ego. Al joked: "When I have to cut it off, yeah."
