There was talk of a 'walk out' on ITV's Good Morning Britain today, Tuesday, March 7, after a joke seemingly backfired. As Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were back in the hosting seats it was a comment by Ranvir Singh that sparked the comment.
Susanna Reid joked about fearing a 'walk out' on the daytime show after Ranvir Singh's remark to Richard Madeley created an uncomfortable moment. The hosts were back together at the helm of the ITV news programme following Richard's returned to the studio on Monday for his first show in weeks after an accident. Ed Balls took up the role in the presenter's place during his leave. Acknowledging the absence, Richard quipped that he "hadn't got the sack".
According to a report by Manchester Evening News, Susanna said: "We haven’t yet." Madeley, 66, had a 'freak accident' had kept him away. Susanna then ended up grimacing as he revealed the details behind the accident which kept him off air, explaining how a car door had slammed into him with such an impact that it made him bite his tongue.

"I was either a freak having an accident or I had a freak accident," he said, adding that the incident happened when he was "crouching down on a slope" while "fiddling around with something at the bottom of the car". He explained: "I turned around as the door decided to close itself. Gravity pulled it shut, it’s a big heavy door."
He then explained how he had gone to hospital where he had to have three stitches in his tongue. Richard was then quick to point out: "I didn't actually get the sack as one magazine reported."
Richard was back on Tuesday alongside Susanna while Ranvir returned to read the latest news headlines alongside them. They were discussing the news that a Barbie doll celebrating space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock has been released, and she later appeared on the show to chat about it.
However, before that, former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ranvir tried to draw a comparison between Richard and a Ken doll. "Is that Ken?" Richard asked before a split-screen appeared showing Richard on one side and the doll on the other.
"Yes that is Ken," Ranvir replied before adding: "The traditional Ken, that you know Richard, must be modelled on you." But Richard was quick to respond: "It looks nothing like me," before asking: "What are you talking about?"
As Ranvir tried to insist that it was a compliment, Susanna jumped in to shut down the conversation as she said to say "Don't worry, we don't want to risk another walkout," before adding: "There was a threat of a walkout at the beginning of the programme..." Ranvir added: "It's a compliment," before the main hosting duo pressed on.
