Richard Madeley has revealed his wife Judy Finnigan has been sleeping in the spare room.
The Good Morning Britain host explained that his wife, 74, had left their bedroom due to an unusual problem.
Talking to his co-host Charlotte Hawkins, on today's show, Richard said: "I was saying earlier that Judy is now sleeping in the spare room because we have got this mouse in the bedroom now.
"It comes out from the bed at about 11pm every night on the dot, virtually to the second.
"I've set traps and I have put boxes out and a lot of people are saying peanut butter.
"But I have tried peanut butter and it stinks."
Charlotte suggested he do the same as Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the speaker of the House of Commons, after he employed his cat to get rid of the Downing Street mice.
She said: "He's brought his cat, Attlee, down to do this. The speaker said Attlee has been going around to check there were not any mice around, and there were absolutely none.
"So you need to have a word with Sir Lindsay Hoyle and say can you borrow Attlee for the day."
Joking about how the cat "was the answer" to his pest issues, Richard said: "Apparently he's an ace mouser, thank you very much indeed."
Following the revelation that Judy was in the spare room, viewers tweeted their advice.
One said: #GMB tell Richard to buy new traps and only handle them with latex gloves on (to load with peanut butter and place) otherwise they smell human of the trap and don't bother with it and live another day. And place the traps around the edges of the room and behind the bed."
While another suggested: "Put chocolate in a humane trap, then release the mouse in wild #gmb."
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
