Good Morning Britain's Charlotte Hawkins issues response to Robert Rinder's ratings claim

Charlotte Hawkins has sent a message to Good Morning Britain colleague Robert Rinder after the guest host made a big boast about ratings being 'off the scale' on the ITV show.

Charlotte was joined by the man, best known to fans of daytime television as Judge Rinder for four consecutive days after bosses had a bit of a shake up of presenting personnel. The last time ex Strictly contestant Robert was an anchor on the breakfast programme, many viewers called for him to be given the nod on a permanent basis, ahead of the likes of Richard Madeley and Adil Ray.

And there was a predominantly similar response when he joined Charlotte behind the GMB hosting desk from Monday to Wednesday. As he signed off on another presenting stint, Robert made a bold claim on Twitter as he told his followers: "Hey clever people, thanks for tuning in to @GMB this week. Last two days ratings have been off the scale… Proves my constant refrain … We are a nation that cares about truth & common sense."

His comment about the spike in ratings got plenty of reaction, not least from his presenting partner in crime Charlotte, who told him: "Great working with you @RobbieRinder See you back on @gmb soon…" The man himself was quick to return the compliment, telling Charlotte: "Learned a lot from you.. a true pro. Thank you."

Both hosts' fans were quick to call for their partnership to be given another try, with one replying: "Been a brilliant week on GMB, loving the rob & charlotte combo," with a second tweeting: "I would love @RobbieRinder to be on all the time! Love him!!! You to @CharlotteHawkns - just relate to you both more."
