Adil Ray fiercely defended Meghan Markle live on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, as her latest tell all interview caused a stir across the world.
Arriving a year after her and husband Prince Harry' s sit-down chat with Oprah Winfrey and the claims made during it dominated headlines across the globe, the Duchess of Sussex has spoken to The Cut magazine about her family life, including the racism she says her and her children have faced.
The moment details of Meghan's new interview were made public, the reaction online was huge, with long-standing critic Piers Morgan branding the former Suits actress '‘shameless and shameful’ and her face on many newspaper front pages just hours later.
As the claims made by Meghan, including that she and Harry upset the Royal Family hierarchy just 'by existing,' and the coverage her interview has received so far was discussed by Adil, GMB co-host Charlotte Hawkins and studio guests, Newsweek’s Jack Royston., Adil hit out at some of the 'unfair' treatment she has and continues to receive in the press.

He blasted: "Here we are talking about racism and we’re telling the victim to get her words right, rather than talk about the press.
"She absolutely got an unfair treatment by the press, compared to Kate. Kate was never accused of accusing drought and murder in Mexico because she liked avocados," with his point in reference to a headline carried by the Daily Mail, which read 'How Meghan's favourite avocado snack - beloved of all millennials - is fuelling human rights abuses, drought and murder.'
Adil continued: "The Mail also said in the early days, 'Harry's girl is straight out of Compton.' The point she's making is that she did feel she got unfairly treated. She was unfairly treated by the press. “The fact that she’s done this interview, she’s ended up on the front page of the Daily Mail. But, the Daily Mail are saying, 'I wish she’d go away,' it's quite interesting!”
Adil's de3fewnce of Meghan was applauded by Denise Welch, who herself has hit out at the things said and written about her and Harry in the past. Reacting to what Adil said on air, Denise write: "Omg well said @adilray @GMB. Your comments on Meghan were spot on!! How dare the concentration be on how Meghan should choose her words better rather than on the people who used the racist comments!!!"
